The Vibe:

The lynchpin of Liberty Village’s residential renaissance, the Toy Factory Lofts are urban fun in an extremely well-maintained building.

The Character

This building was originally the head offices for Irwin Toy, which is where it’s derived its name from. Since then, so much work has gone into remodeling this space – with hard loft and soft loft conversion going into this space. Each unit may not have a great deal of outside space, but there’s a rooftop deck and some units face into an interior garden terrace. Overall, the Toy Factory Lofts are a masterclass in loft conversion in this former industrial area.

The Units

The elements in the Toy Factory Lofts are still true to the original building. What you’ll find here are plenty of exposed brick, steel ceiling beams, and Douglas Fir posts. Each unit has its own authentic vibe, which is really what we’re always looking for when it comes to loft living – we want to feel the bones of the old building, while still enjoying comfortable and cool new amenities.

What We Love

The Toy Factory Lofts are simply huge! Three buildings, all brought together, they make up the beating heart of Liberty Village. Metro, the LCBO, Toronto brunch hotspot Mildred’s Temple Kitchen – they’re all right around the corner. The best of them all? The Balzac’s coffee shop right IN the building.

What We Don't

Liberty Village is growing, and fast. Right in the heart of the neighbourhood’s commercial district, the area surrounding these lofts can get pretty hectic and pretty rowdy in a hurry (especially before and after Toronto FC games over at BMO Field). If you want something a bit more on the quiet side, you might need to look elsewhere for loft living.
