The Story

Lambton Baby Point is also known as, “Baby Point” to the locals, pronounced “babby” to rhyme with cabbie or tabbie. Bordered with Jane St. to the east, Dundas St. West to the north and Bloor St. West to the south. In the early 19th century, Baby Point real estate was once home to a small Iroquois village. James Baby was a lawyer who bought the land primarily for his own estate and future heirs. It wasn’t until 1912, when the land was bought by a developer, who made it into what it is today. Baby Point is a very wealthy area and is one of the oldest residential neighbourhoods in Toronto. The main entry to the community is off of Jane St. where you enter through the historic stone gates. The ultra-exclusive neighbourhood, like the rest of Toronto, is culturally diverse.  Estate homes line the Humber River where towering trees act as lush canopies to shade the picturesque homes adding to its scene like no other.

The Convenience

The neighbourhood has a number of parks and parkettes which makes it a wonderful place to get outdoors to explore. The hilly terrain and Humber River at your feet allow for many adventures to be found. The outdoors and urban convenience that this area allows, makes it extremely attractive for young professionals and families. There is a wonderful mix of older families who have been there for generations, as well as younger families looking for a very family friendly place to raise their children. The Lambton country club is located just east of Baby Point that offers fun and relaxation with 36 holes, a pool and many more amenities to enjoy. The tree-lined Humber River runs through this community where the locals come to fish, jog and just escape city life. According to Stats Canada nearly ¼ of the population in Lambton Baby Point are children. With an excellent school system, it's no wonder that families flock to this area of the city. Shopping is easily accessible as the proximity to downtown and local amenities is very close .Nearby on Annette and Jane St. residents can enjoy shopping at the eclectic European stores, markets, cafes and restaurants. Bloor West Village is just in walking distance where residents can enjoy shopping at specialty shops and retail stores. It's very easy to get to and around this area by car, biking, walking or even by public transit as the bus runs right through the area.

The Residents

There's a wonderful mix of older generation family and young professionals with small children as Baby Point real estate is known to be family friendly and quiet. Many of the locals can be seen jogging, fishing or enjoying the amenities at the Lambton country club.
