The Vibe

The newly renovated area of Lakeview Mississauga is home to gorgeous streets & parks, filled with old cottage getaways of Mississauga.

The Story

In the Region of Peel, just east of Port Credit is the lovely neighbourhood of Lakeview Mississauga. Lakeview runs along the northern end of Lake Ontario, with Etobicoke Creek to the East and Cooksville Creek to the West. Prior to 1958, the land had been used primarily for farmers since the 1800s. Lakeview was home to many wartime munitions plants during World War II. One large munitions factory in Lakeview was staffed almost exclusively by women.

In September of 2016, the City of Mississauga, announced the Lakeview Mississauga revitalization plan, turning the area into a wonderful mixture of both residential & commercial units which includes 8,000 residential units with tons of green space for families with a population of 20,352. Lakeview Mississauga real estate is compromised of mostly older homes between 30-60 years old, however, the newer ones are more likely to be custom built million dollar properties.

The Convenience

Lakeview Mississauga will become a new community of about 8,000 residential units, with generous green spaces, boardwalks, canals lined with restaurants and boutiques, wetland trails and a cultural event space. There are three different GO stations, which boasts easy access to Toronto and attractive bordering communities of Mineola and Port Credit. It also provides easy access to the QEW and the Lakeshore either west or east into Toronto. In terms of walkable amenities, it’s not great, but as a commuter, this is easily one of the best spots in Mississauga.

The Residents

Residents consist of an array of different ethnic groups, older families, young families looking to get out of the city but still have the easy accessibility to many amenities. Looking for an older home that's already been renovated and upgraded? There are more than a few that are considered quite affordable in today's real estate market. If a fixer upper is more your style, there are many opportunities and properties available.

The Best Part

Lakeview is suitable for those looking for fixer-uppers which can lend to a wonderful community vibe, filled with pride for the place where they live. Additionally, the City of Mississauga's plans to continue the rejuvenation of the waterfront can mean a rise in home values for the future.
