One of our favourite things about summer time in Toronto is the chance to relax on a fabulous patio with a cold drink and some great food. We thought it would be a fun idea to share some of our favourite patios with you! With so many to choose from, it wasn’t an easy task but we were able to narrow it down to our 5 favourites. So without further ado, we give you our favourite summer patios in Toronto for 2014!

1. Harvest Kitchen – 124 Harbord Street (Spadina & Harbord)

Type: Diner
Food: Breakfast/Brunch

Patio: Upon arriving there’s a small awning covered, street level patio that seats 8 people. On the second level there’s a 35 seat patio with 3 tree canopies. This gorgeous patio is serine and peaceful. Nothing beats a great brunch and great atmosphere at this lovely spot.

2. Amsterdam Brewhouse – 245 Queens Quay West (Queens Quay & Lower Simcoe)

Type: Gastro Pub
Food: Pub Fare

Patio: With a total of 3 patios that seat over 300 people you’ll be sure to find a seat on this fabulous patio! One patio is located essentially right above the lake and has a relaxing feel to it with Muskoka chairs and palm trees.

3. Jazz Bistro – 25 Victoria Street (Yonge & Dundas)

Type: Bistro
Food: Canadian

Patio: The recently opened rooftop terrace (called the Jazz Cellar) is located on the third floor of the bistro. With a great view of the city, you can view the sights of downtown while experiencing live jazz music with a full service bar.

4. Against The Grain Leaside – 85 Laird Drive #1 (Laird & Millwood)

Type: Gastro Pub
Food: Pub Fare

Patio: With 2 patios to choose from: first, a ground floor patio that was built around the building. This patio includes fireplaces, comfy seating and is covered with garden life. The second roof top patio has its own bar, a large fireplace, patio heaters, comfy seating and stylish umbrellas. These patios give off a comforting feel with a great view of the neighbourhood.

5. Rock Lobster Leslieville – 1192 Queen Street East (Jones & Queen)

Type: Restaurant
Food: Seafood/Comfort Food

Patio: At this location there are three patios: 1) in the front (on the street) that seats up to 50 people 2) in the back that also seats up to 50 people and 3) a smaller patio that is located in a side alleyway (designated for smokers) that sits up to 12 people. They’ve also supplied a designated area for stroller parking for a family-friendly environment.

We definitely recommend checking out some of these great patios while you still have the chance. Don’t wait too long, as the summer weather won’t last forever!
