Mimico is a mostly residential neighbourhood with homes ranging from large elegant estates to smaller bungalows built in the early 1900’s. Most recently you’ll find many high-rise condo developments along the lakeshore from Mimico Creek to the Humber River. In 2012, Toronto Life magazine ranked Mimico first on their “Where to Buy” list of Toronto neighbourhoods. It shows in the numbers as the average detached Mimico house sold for $341,546 in 2005 and so far in 2015, they’ve sold for $679,915. That’s almost double the price in just 10 years!

Transportation – One of the many perks of living in Mimico is the mass availability of public transit. With the Bloor-Danforth subway line accessible by many buses and the streetcars along the lake shore running on a frequent schedule, it’s never an issue finding a way to get around. For people commuting in and out of downtown Toronto, the Mimico Go Train provides a faster trip right to Union station.

Sports and Recreation – Mimico has always been a neighbourhood of Toronto that prides itself on celebrating sport. With many sporting clubs in the area such as Tennis clubs, Lacrosse clubs and Yacht clubs, there is always something to do for the sport lover in the family. In addition to sporting clubs, Mimico habitants have always been proud supporters of their Lacrosse teams who have won many national championships as well as the many professional Hockey players to come out of Mimico.
